A few words from Clair C., Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapist
Grief. It is a universal experience and the response to grief can be multifaceted. There is no one right way to grieve something or someone. And there is no set timeline as to when you “should” be over it.
As a Yoga Therapists, we recognize that grief shifts from feeling like razor sharp edges of visceral pain, to the ebb & flow of a residual ache that just won’t seem to go away, to soft memories that elicit joy & gratitude. Grief transforms over time as we weave new life-giving experiences into past, sometimes painful, memories.
Whatever the root cause of your grief, one thing I’ve learned, is that healing from grief is not linear & it needs to be acknowledged by someone, or by a group of people, who can hold compassionate space for such a vulnerable human experience.
If you are experiencing grief and you are tired of thinking your way through the process, come & see if Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy (PRYT) can help you find your path through loss. PRYT is an excellent therapy on its own, or in conjunction with other modalities. PRYT facilitates the client’s authentic experience of body, mind and emotions with the use of gentle somatic exploration, breathwork, mindfulness, client-centred dialogue and the cultivation of a trusting therapeutic relationship.
